Kiva cafe ’s founder, Beebe Okoye architect and ceramic artist, craved a space that would evoke the feelings of community and creativity. Kivas were ancient, southwestern, architectural structures used by the community for spiritual and feasting ceremonies. Pots or ceramic wares held foods and beverages consumed during these events.

Beebe Okoye learned of Kivas as a child and young woman in Tucson, Arizona, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the United States of America. A city embedded in the lush Sonoran Desert, ringed by beautiful mountains, and crowned with clear blue skies. The architectural and archeological artifacts of the ancient peoples of the region infused her being and she took this with her on world travels to the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. She studied and worked as an architect in Tucson, Arizona, Mexico City, Mexico and Florence, Italy until one day she realized her dream. Kiva cafe incites interaction, involvement, direct communication and connection. It is the place for people with an almost renaissance-like passion for fine food, objects d’art to gather and take nourishment for the body and the senses. We invite you to commune, renew and view! Welcome to Kiva cafe.
